6. Back Bay Social Club

Back Bay Social Club Website

867 Boylston St.
Boston, Massachusetts
Country: The United States of America

Description: Back Bay Social Club is on a beautiful stretch of Boylston Street. You can tell this is place to have a drink and meet-up with friends. This scene features premium bar food with a price tag of $22.00 for The Social Burger.

Premium ingredients consisting of a bakery bun, cheese, bacon, and onion are served very artfully on a wood plank. The beef has a great flavor but my patty (ordered medium) was just a little too dry. The bacon was a little too crispy and the flavors were not just melting together for me. This burger could use some pickles, mustard, or a rich aioli to help pull everything together.

While it is not the best in Boston this burger is more than adequate to enjoy a night on the patio at Back Bay Social Club.

5. JM Curley

21 Temple Place
Boston, Massachusetts
Country: The United States of America

Description: The JM Curley Burger is 5 ounces of natural beef, griddled onions, cheddar, Pop’s Russian Dressing, and pickles. The flavors are well thought out, which make it a contender for being one of the better burgers in Boston. However, my bun was a little too hard and the pickles lacked some vinegar punch. The beef was juicy and well cooked, however the Pop's sauce could use more zip. The cheese was too neutral...and all of this led to a burger that on paper could have performed, but given the current lack of flavor punch in the ingredients it fell short. A change of the cheese or the bun could turn this burger around.

4. UBurger

UBurger Website

140 Tremont Street
Boston, Massachusetts
Country: The United States of America

Description: The U Cheeseburger costs only $5.00 and comes stacked with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, house spread, and American Cheese. Similar to a Five Guy's burger the beef is good and well cooked. The onions are sliced very thin and lettuce is shredded, which does wonders for burger texture. The bun was decent and so was the cheese. However, the overall texture and flavor leads to an above average burger. The key to this burger is simple execution of an American Classic. For $5.00 it's a pretty good deal, but it won't be winning "best burger in Boston" in it's current form. For an on-the-run burger craving UBurger has you covered.
