29. The Bald Faced Stag

best burgers in London The Bald Faced Stag

The Bald Faced Stag Website

69 High Rd
East Finchley, Greater London
Country: The United Kingdom

Description: The Cheeseburger at the Bald Faced Stag is a good sandwich to grab for lunch. While this burger does not stand out amongst the greatest in London it's got potential. A bakery bun, melted cheese, and a char-grilled patty make for a satisfying burger. However, the beef and bun were quite a bit too dry when I ordered my burger. The bun was very difficult to bite through and I almost had to tear through it with my teeth. This is contrary to most burger experiences that feature a pillowy soft bun. A luxury pub feel and a hearty serving of chips make this a good bite for those needing a fun lunch.

28. Bar Boulud

Bar Boulud Website

66 Knightsbridge
London, Greater London
Country: The United Kingdom

Description: The Piggie at Bar Boulud was a rare example of a burger trying too hard. Pulled Pork, Green Chili Mayo, Bibb Lettuce, Red Cabbage Slaw, and a Cheddar Bun all combined for too many textures and flavors going on. The interesting fact here is that none of them stood out and the burger was lacking any salt/acid to give it that mouth watering effect. The burger was also quite tall and difficult to handle/enjoy while eating. Overall, the Piggie has potential however it seems to be a little confused about what it is trying to do. I'd suggest subbing the lettuce for fried onion strings and topping the burger with a healthy dose of vinegar based BBQ sauce.

27. Goodman

best burgers in London Goodman

Goodman Website

24-26 Maddox Street
London, Greater London
Country: The United Kingdom

Description: The Goodman Burger at Goodman is a traditional steakhouse burger. I ordered my burger medium and it came with pickle, cheddar, bacon, tomato, lettuce, and grilled onion. The burger is served on a sesame seed bun. Overall, the beef is a little under seasoned but has a great taste. The main detractor of this burger is that it is too tall and it is a struggle to hold together. Goodman is a great restaurant and definitely a place to be seen. If you're out for a shopping trip on Regent Street and need to add some manliness into the evening stop in at Goodman for a burger and beer.

26. Hache

best burgers in London Hache

Hache Website

329 - 331 Fulham Road
London, Greater London
Country: The United Kingdom

Description: I ordered the Canadian burger at Hache. The burger comes with cured bacon and mature cheddar on a brioche roll. Hache markets themselves as being "burger connoisseurs". While my burger was quite good I don't think Hache's burgers are in the same class as other gourmet burgers. My beef was juicy and cooked medium as I ordered, however the bun was a bit over-toasted. The burger needed some liberal pours of ketchup and mustard to make up for the bun and to give it that salt/acid profile to make my mouth water.

25. Hawksmoor

best burgers in London Hawksmoor

Hawksmoor Website

11 Langley St, London
London, Greater London
Country: The United Kingdom

Description: The Hawksmoor is a classy London establishment known for having some of the best beef around. It is no surprise their burger features premium beef with bits of bone marrow worked in.

The burger is topped with Guebben chese, pickle, lettuce, red onion, a house sauce, and served with a side of housemade ketchup. All of this is packed onto a tender brioche bun. I ordered my burger medium and it was cooked to perfection with a nice char. The beef was juicy and had a lot of flavor. However, it's a shame that this great piece of beef is paired with some confused ingredients. The Guebben cheese is rather powerful and combines with the house made ketchup that is very tangy/sour as well. I only added the house made ketchup to the burger after my first few bites; since I found the burger was lacking some salt/acid to really make your mouth water.

Overall, this is a solid burger if you do not put the awful house made ketchup on top. The bun is great, the beef is great, the other condiments work is just one sauce or cheese substitution away from being a fantastic burger.
