Bacon Cheeseburger

What's better than the Classic American Cheeseburger? One with bacon!

Ingredients:


 

  • Angus Beef 1.5 pounds / 24 Ounces
  •  

  • Yellow American - 4 Slices
  •  

  • Applewood Smoked Bacon - 8 Slices
  •  

  • Romaine 0.25 pounds / 4 Ounces
  •  

  • Dill Pickle Chips 0.25 pounds / 4 Ounces
  •  

  • Ripened Red Tomatoes - 0.664 Tomatoes
  •  

  • Sliced Yellow Onions - 0.664 Onions
  •  

  • Ketchup 0.25 pounds / 4 Ounces
  •  

  • Yellow Mustard 0.25 pounds / 4 Ounces
  •  

  • Bakery Bun - 4 Buns
  •  

Preparation:


 

  1. Turn on the oven and preheat to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and lay the bacon on top.
  2.  

  3. Divide the meat into 6 ounce portions. Form each portion loosely into a 3/4-inch-thick patty and make a depression in the center with your thumb. Season both sides of each burger with salt and pepper.

    Tips:
    • Take care not to over work the meat
    • Allowing the meat to warm up to near room temperature will provide a better sear that will lock in flavor

  5. Wash and prep the tomatoes and cut them into thin slices.
  6.  

  7. Wash and prep the yellow onions by cutting them into thin strips.
  8.  

  9. Wash and prep the romaine lettuce.
  10.  

 

Cooking Directions:


 

  1. Place the bacon in the oven and start a timer. Begin checking on the bacon around 12 minutes into cooking. The bacon should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to be a perfect crispy golden brown.
  2.  

  3. Place beef patties on the grill or pan at medium-high heat and cook for 3-5 minutes.
    • 3 Minutes = Medium-Rare
    • 3.5 Minutes = Medium
    • 4 Minutes = Medium-Well
    • 4.5 Minutes = Well

    Flip the burgers and continue cooking for 3-5 minutes until desired doneness:
    • 3 Minutes = Medium-Rare
    • 3.5 Minutes = Medium
    • 4 Minutes = Medium-Well
    • 4.5 Minutes = Well
  4.  

  5. Place cheese on top of patty during the final minute of cooking
  6.  

  7. Lightly toast the bun during the last minute of cooking on a separate pan at low-medium heat (if desired).

Assembly Instructions:


 

  1. Place beef patty on top of bottom bun

     

  2. Place the Yellow American on top of the meat (if not already done)

     

  3. Top the burger with Applewood Smoked Bacon

     

  4. Top the burger with Ketchup

     

  5. Top the burger with Yellow Mustard

     

  6. Top the burger with Dill Pickle Chips

     

  7. Top the burger with Ripened Red Tomatoes

     

  8. Top the burger with Sliced Yellow Onion

     

  9. Top the burger with Romaine

     

  10. Place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
